As we celebrate and reflect on the words, work, and activism of the late and great Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. let this also be a reminder that he was a man of rest and enjoyed being in the water. ⁠ ⁠ According to the publication oaccessjamaica, Dr. King returned to Jamaica along with his wife, Coretta Scott-King, in January/February 1967 to write the first draft of his final book, "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?"⁠ ⁠ These photos of Dr. King's work trip were published in Ebony Magazine's June 1967 issue in an article called "MLK's Tropic Interlude." When the news reported that Dr. King was taking a vacation, he responded, "I'm working as hard as ever.
