UNC MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO STANFORD IN THE FINAL SECONDS ------------- Stanford’s Jaylen Blakes made a mid-range jumper with 1.5 seconds left to give the Cardinal a 72-71 win against UNC in Chapel Hill on Saturday afternoon. It’s Carolina’s first ever loss against Stanford in 14 games and snaps a season-long four-game winning streak for the Tar Heels. R.J. Davis led the Tar Heels with 19 points. Stanford’s Maxime Raynaud led all scorers with 25 points and added 13 rebounds. Blakes finished with 20 points. The Tar Heels led 66-61 with 4:23 remaining in the game, but made just two shots in the final minutes as Stanford clawed back to steal the win. Blakes accounted for the Cardinal’s final four points in the last minute. The loss drops Carolina to 12-7 overall and 5-2 in ACC play.
