Altadena, with its 81.5% Black homeownership—double the national average—has been a beacon of generational wealth. But recent tragedies have brought immense loss, with over 20 lives lost and more damage still being calculated. My heart goes out to those families.
In the aftermath, we must stay vigilant. Scammers and fraudsters will try to take advantage, targeting vulnerable homeowners with quick cash offers or fraudulent deeds. There’s also the risk of gentrification. Protect what you’ve built.
