The polar vortex that moved in Friday is finally releasing its icy grip on Colorado, but not before leaving us with another night of subzero temperatures.
Two areas in Colorado hit -40 early Tuesday morning. Fraser Flats, just south of Tabernash in Grand County, hit -44 and Grand Lake reported -40.
Wind chills were in the -60 to -70 range in some mountain areas on Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.
