On 15 January, Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer (ACLO) Aunty Eva Jo and Police Aboriginal Liaison Officers (PALOs) Senior Constable Elizabeth and First Constable Tia, joined other Victoria Police members and the public for the Evonne Goolagong Cawley Day (formally First Nations Day) at the Australian Open.
PALO Elizabeth said the event “offered police a unique opportunity to connect, network, have fun, and to continue to strengthen relationships with mob.”
“It’s wonderful to see the Aus Open host such a meaningful and inclusive event to celebrate sporting legend, Evonne Goolagong Cawley, and encourage young mob participation in sport.”
Thanks for a fun day out, Australia Open - we'll see you again next year 🎾
