Keep swiping for more Mars ➡️ Our Curiosity rover took this 360-degree panorama of the Red Planet in 2021. It was standing atop "Mont Mercou," a rock formation looking over Gale Crater, the region of Mars where Curiosity first landed in 2012. Since then, Curiosity has been exploring the Martian landscape, studying the planet's geography and geology. Along with our Perseverance rover, which touched down in Jezero Crater in 2021, Curiosity is helping us understand the ancient past of Mars, when it could have been home to microbial life.
