Congratulations to history professor and author Jennifer L. Morgan ’86 for being named one of this year's recipients of the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship. Her groundbreaking work revolves around the lives of enslaved women and the origins of race-based slavery in early America.
Morgan, a 1986 graduate of Oberlin College, is the 15th Oberlin alum to receive this recognition, popularly known as the “Genius Grant.” Her scholarship has deepened our understanding of the complex and often overlooked experiences of enslaved women.
