We believe that the Midwest makes essential contributions to the country at large — culturally, intellectually, and economically. We believe in fostering our connections with the wider community and region, and uplifting students from our surrounding area. We believe in the merit of the Midwest. We believe that an Oberlin education should be accessible to Midwestern students. That is why we are launching our Midwest Merit Scholarship. Starting in fall 2025, $100,000 will be awarded to new, enrolling students from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas.
