Today we honor the life and work of @Johnnettabcole, Ph.D. Anthropologist and educator Johnnetta Cole ’57 was the first Black female president of Spelman College and the former director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African Art. She earned a National Humanities Medal in 2021 for her work in advancing the understanding of Black culture and the necessity and power of racial inclusion.
