Hi! I’m Zach Gershon (he/they) and I am a fourth-year musical studies and history double major and Hispanic studies minor from Atlanta. This Winter Term, I was in Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina, doing research for my senior history honors thesis on Jewish communities in the colonial American Southeast. In addition to visiting historic sites in both cities, I dedicated most of my time there to archival research and searching for primary sources discussing this fascinating history. I can’t wait to share my findings with the Oberlin community! Outside of research, I am in @oscacoops (shout-out to Keep Cottage!). I really enjoy playing guitar (rock, blues and flamenco), musical theater, and running sound for student performances as a member of the concert sound crew.
