Tonight we pay tribute to the renowned Clarence Cameron White, whose mother also studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
Clarence Cameron White, a leading Black violinist of the early 20th century, attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music from 1896 to 1901. A prominent neoromantic composer known for his dramatic works, he also contributed articles on violin pedagogy and history to the Negro Music Journal and was a founding member and president of the National Association of Negro Musicians.
