On November 3, Oberlin’s La Casa Hispanica (AKA Harvey House) hosted its annual Day of the Dead celebration with a Mexican and a Peruvian ofrenda, also known as an altar. Faculty-in-Residence Yorki Encalada Egusquiza along with some of the house's residents explained the history and significance behind the holiday. They finished off the event by sharing some delicious hot chocolate and pan de muerto, a type of bread offered for the occasion.
