Today we pay homage to a true maestro. Michael Morgan '79 was a celebrated conductor and music director who led the Oakland Symphony (formerly known as the Oakland East Bay Symphony) for three decades and collaborated with many other musical organizations. A protégé of Leonard Bernstein, he was an award-winning contributor to the Bay Area’s musical and cultural scene until his death in 2021.
