In recognition of her fight for equal rights, today we celebrate the life of Jacqueline Berrien. Civil rights attorney Jacqueline Berrien '83 was chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under President Barack Obama. Berrien died in 2015; after her death, Obama praised her life of advocacy, stating that "she fought hard every day to make real our nation’s promise of equal opportunity for all."
