Oberlin observed Kuumba Week with a celebration of Black creativity inspired by the Swahili word for creativity. Events showcased the talents of students, staff, and faculty while highlighting Black arts education in Africana studies.
One of the highlights of the week was the "Express Yourself: Music & Movement" workshop led by Professor Talise Campbell in Warner Main Space. This immersive experience transported participants on a journey through the art of traditional West African dance. The workshop explored movement, music, and folklore, providing an interactive experience that left everyone exhilarated.
