On February 9, 2024, staff and friends of Battleship North Carolina gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Living With Water, a project that aims to reduce the impact of flooding on the Battleship's staff and visitors. The project will use re-naturalization combined with parking lot enhancements to protect against the ankle-deep high tide flooding, which deters potential visitors to the Battleship.
