Al Sharpton led a "buy in" at a Costco in East Harlem, New York, with more than 100 members of the civil rights activist's nonprofit, National Action Network, on Saturday to support the company's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. On Friday, Costco shareholders voted down a shareholder proposal urging the wholesale club operator to evaluate any risks posed by its DEI practices.
