Today’s Catholic Schools Week theme is “Celebrating Your Community.” A central aspect of Catholic education is learning the importance of service to others. When students take part in service activities—both local and beyond—they demonstrate the values and faith they gain through their Catholic education and learn how to make the world a better place. When they observe how others serve the community, they gain an appreciation for how they can continue to serve others their entire lives. At Austin Prep, service hours give our students the opportunity to reach out to others who truly need what they have to offer: their time and their talents. Students can experience and share God’s love in concrete ways through their words and their actions in ministry to others. The service experience can also lead to self-discovery and self-growth. As Jesus said, “Whatever you do for the least of my brothers and sisters, you do for me” (Matthew 25:40). #CSW2025
