Tonight we celebrated Max Spooneybarger with the Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital Home Run for Life!
Seven years ago, Max’s mother Misty Spooneybarger, had to rely on her ER nursing skills when a lawn mower accident injured Max’s leg. After being rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital and recovering at the Studer Family Children’s Hospital, Max was fitted with a superhero prosthetic leg that allows him to excel in all sports to this day! As a natural athlete, his abilities come from his father Tim Spooneybarger, a former MLB pitcher for the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves. This Summer he won four gold medals in track and swimming at the junior Paralympics event, Endeavor Games.
You rock Max!
