Say 👋to Carly, an intern for PRG this summer, currently working on a neuroscience degree, a gynecological cancer survivor and former PRG client. “A lot of people look at me with sympathy when I say I had cancer at 19, but I think having it at such a young age has a notable advantage. There’s a very unique appreciation for life that comes with a scary diagnosis. Getting this changed perspective at such a young age means I have the majority of my life to ride the high; I have so many more opportunities to do something great with this newfound love for life. For that I am extremely grateful. I’ve learned a lot about survivorship and some of the challenges that come with the transition back to “normal” life. I think a lot of people, my teenage self included, think that finishing treatment or getting those clean scans means the hard stuff is over.
