A behind the scenes look at setting the scene! This Winter Term, students are learning the painting techniques used in creating large scale theatrical backdrops. Since the backdrop is so large, it is drawn out and painted on the floor before it will ultimately be hung behind the stage. Under the direction of Eric Steggall, Managing Director for Theater, Dance, and Opera, and Laura Carlson-Tarantowski, Scenic Designer and Lecturer in Theater, students are not only learning these skills, but are implementing them through crafting the actual set to be used in the Spring Opera Theater production of Mozart's "La Finta Giardiniera."
