We came upon this pride of 7 lions in a dry river bed, with Chichele as our backdrop, just ten minutes from the lodge. We spent a good hour in their quiet company, sipping on cold drinks from the game vehicle as the sun set, the lions lazing about until night would hit and hunting would begin. Netflix has nothing on Bush TV. The red lights kept them in our view as darkness fell, each lion passing within feet of our vehicles - as we all held our breath…! And with a storm brewing, lightning strikes lit up the bush and lions.
