On January 30th, 1976 Warner Bros. Records releases the debut album, Stretchin' Out In Bootsy's Rubber Band, co-produced by RRHOF inductees George Clinton and William Collins. Their debut album didn't pick up steam until the band served as the opening act for Parliament-Funkadelic. Three singles were released from their auspicious debut: Psychoticbumpschool (WBS 8291), Stretchin' Out (In A Rubber Band) (WBS 8215), and a song that would serve as their most enduring and soulful ballad, I'd Rather Be With You (WBS 8246).
