Motogo’s mission is simple: ‘bring back shop class.’
This Winter Term, they collaborated with Oberlin’s Bonner Center for Engaged Liberal Arts to offer a hands-on course, “Failure and the Engaged Arts of Building Motorcycles.” Students paired up in multiple weekly sessions, constructing motorcycle engines from scratch.
When mistakes were made, they were encouraged to view failure as essential to building resilience. This experience taught them that managing healthy stress expands our capacity to learn and cope with larger challenges.
