📣 As David is ready to go into battle, the people of God had so much confidence in God’s protection and deliverance that they had already set up banners of joyful celebration. Banners signified God’s victory over enemies but also a sign of defiance to the enemy. When we ‘raise our banners’ in joyful celebration we are trusting in God’s character and in his rescue before we have even seen it come to pass. David was saved from his enemies as a foretelling of how the father (God) would save the son (Jesus).
