LEAPING INTO COMPETITION: Blue Brigade performed a showoff of its contest dances in the gym on Wednesday evening in preparation for their upcoming competitions. The performance included 32 dances, with 20 of those being solos and the others being the full team, officers, or duos. Tomorrow, the team will be going to their first competition of the season at Hays High School. Sophomore Peyton Robenhorst thinks the show helped to get ready for tomorrow’s contest.
“I think it went well,” Robehnhorst said. “We were all very excited for this and we got to do a mock competition, it’s nice and fun.”
Though the ensemble dances were choreographed by officers and choreographers, some of the soloists were able to do the choreography for their own dance.
“You decide who gets to choreograph your solo,” Robenhorst said. “Some people have a preference of choreographing their own solo, but if you’re trying out for an officer you have to choreograph your own solo.”
