We are thrilled to be able to announce one of our Women Who Lead Forum event Honorees! On Saturday, March 22nd, Dr. Ellen Schecter ‘66 will join the Arcadia community on Glenside’s campus. Dr. Ellen Schecter ‘66 has been widely published in print and on the web. Many of her twenty-four published books are for children, and her first novel, "The Big Idea" won the Américas Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature. Her work in television won multiple awards, including Reading Rainbow—Head Writer, Associate Producer. Her other many multi-award-winning television series for children and families were broadcast on PBS, CBS, CBC, and the Learning, Disney, Discovery Channels. Her memoir, "Fierce Joy" was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award. The New York Journal of Books wrote, "Ellen Schecter creates a visual symphony with her extraordinary command of the unique language of the soul.” She recently completed her fifth novel, "Jumping Off The Edge of the World".
