PITBULL POM: The Blue Brigade performed its pom contest dance for the first time to a Pitbull remix at the boys varsity basketball game halftime on Tuesday. For freshman Claire Sturich, it was a great way to debut their pom dance to the public before using it to compete. “I liked being on the court,” Sturich said. “It’s a lot of fun to dance with friends out there.” The team learned this dance in November and has been cleaning it since. The dance is packed with turns, leaps and kicks. “Before I dance I stretch and warm up,” Sturich said. “I make sure I can do the tricks.” The team performed this dance partly in preparation for its first contest of the season, which was on Saturday at Hayes High School. “It helped me gain confidence to perform well,” Sturich said. “I am a little nervous because it’s my first time but also really excited.
