NO-LOSS KNIGHTS: The varsity boys soccer team remains undefeated after a 3-0 victory over the Crockett Cougars this morning at Burger Stadium.
Senior center back Speight Twohey scored the first two of the Knights’ three goals. Twohey said the team made big improvements after its 0-0 draw against the LASA Raptors earlier in the week.
“We struggled with attacking and breaking defense against LASA,” Twohey said. “We practiced attacking and shooting all week. The goal was to get going early and keep the ball moving.”
Twohey believes the team only did one of those two goals well.
“We need to work on scoring early,” he said. “We didn’t score until the last minute of the first half, so it would have been a lot easier of a game if we scored sooner.”
Twohey said he’s a pretty good player in the air, and is able to contribute to the team’s score despite being a defender.
