DEBATE TAKES CENTER STAGE: McCallum hosted its first-ever debate tournament, bringing competitors, judges and spectators together for a full day of argumentation and strategy. The event not only showcased the talents of the debaters but also served as a major milestone for the program’s growth. “Debate tournaments are a perfect way to fundraise,” debate coach Vaughn Stockton said. “We’re gonna end up almost doubling our budget after we finish the tournament today.” With 250 participants to accommodate, the team relied on donations and parent contributions to provide three full meals at no cost.
