A police officer is being praised for his courage after he pulled a pilot away from a burning plane following a crash in Goleta, California, on January 29, moments before the aircraft exploded. According to the California Highway Patrol, Officer Ayala was conducting a traffic stop near highway 101 when he saw the small aircraft crash into a nearby field. Police said Ayala raced to help the injured pilot, who was crawling away from the plane. Police said the plane exploded moments later.
