This February, we’d like to recognize the first Black American astronaut to go to space: Dr. Guion Bluford 🚀✨. In 1983, the STS-8 crew left orbit during the first night launch of the Challenger shuttle 🛰️. During this mission, Bluford deployed the Insat-1B satellite, the second craft in the first-generation Indian National Satellite System.
