NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK! The award is the first for Klein who was also chosen as the MPSF’s Offensive Player of the Week this week. Klein was named the MPSF’s Defensive Player of the Week last week and now has four conference weekly awards in his career. This week, Klein scored 40 kills on just 60 attempts and registered only three errors to hit .617 in three wins on the road. He registered season-highs of 22 kills and 23.5 points in a victory over No. 13 Ohio State where he hit a career-best .700. Against No. 17 Penn State, Klein had 14 kills on 23 attacks to hit .565. He also put up 10 digs and had four blocks and a service ace on the Trojans’ trip to the Midwest. His eye-popping stat line had him hitting .617 with 4.44 kills per set and 4.78 points per set. For his efforts, he was chosen to the Big Ten Challenge’s all-tournament team.
