Wishing all riders and horses a safe and enjoyable event. *** The New Zealand Horse Ambulance Trust is a registered charity established in 2016 to fund and procure a fleet of purpose-designed equine ambulances. It is a grassroots initiative driven by equine vets who saw the need to respond more effectively and efficiently to horses injured in competition. A transport engineer designed the horse ambulance in Mosgiel, where they are built, and there are now ten in the fleet. The Trust’s experienced operators work closely with the race day or event vet to safely transfer an injured horse to the nearest equine hospital, treating every patient with care and compassion.
