“To #BeABluejay means fully immersing yourself in the Creighton community, sharing in life’s moments with friends and classmates, and being present with each other.” Gabriel Guerra-York is a sophomore in the College of Nursing who hopes to become an emergency room nurse and continue his education in critical care. Originally from Kansas City, Gabriel says choosing Creighton was easy. Its friendly atmosphere gave him an immediate sense of belonging. Today, he describes the community as an “energetic family” where you know people but also have opportunities to expand your circle. One way he’s met new friends is by joining a variety of student organizations.
