AMPLIFYING VOICES || Ft. Choreographer My’Kal Stromile In honor of Black History Month, we are amplifying the voices of Black dancers and artists at Boston Ballet. Today, former Boston Ballet Artist and current choreographer My’Kal Stromile is taking over Instagram Stories! Join My’Kal for a special look at his choreography coming to the stage at the Boston Ballet Ball this weekend, Feb 8. My’Kal’s choreography extends well beyond Boston. At Juilliard, he received Choreographic Honors three years in a row and was awarded the school’s Hector Zaraspe Prize in 2018. In 2023, he created Form and Gesture for Boston Ballet. This past fall My’Kal was commissioned to create, Word for Word at the Paris Opera Ballet, notably as the first black American male choreographer to create a world premiere for the Paris Opera's Season Opening Gala.
