#BlackHistoryMonth Alumni Profile: Fidelis Malembeka is a professional golfer and the first Chief Financial Officer to serve the City of Jackson. As a professional golfer, Malembeka competed in the Sunshine Tour as a member of the Zambia Professional Golfers Association. The Zambia native spent his adolescence representing the country of Tanzania in international golfing events and earned up to 32 scholarship offers from colleges across the United States. Malembeka chose Jackson State University and joined the men’s golf team under the tutelage of Coach Eddie Payton. As co-captain, he led the team to win multiple SWAC championships before graduating in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Malembeka has served as a board member for several nonprofit organizations that have contributed to significant economic and social impacts in Mississippi.
