In terms of planification, I usually breakdown speed in 2-3 sessions so we can hit acceleration, max velocity, cod / agility / lateral speed. I also make sure my athletes get the proper stimulus over the week on plyometrics & jumps through (bilateral horizontal & vertical / unilateral horizontal & vertical and COD / ballistic). In terms of strength we want to build equally the upper & lower and Unilateral & bilateral. The goal is to build strong & explosive lower body with a complete upper body armor to endure collisions!
