JV-A COMES UP SHORT: The JV-A girls basketball team lost to the Anderson Trojans at home on Jan. 24 by a final score of 37-25. Although the team lost, freshman Iris Head believes that they played well and executed their new defense well due to their communication. “I think our team did a good job of communicating and shutting down their top scorer,” Head said. “We ran a defense we had never run before, and we executed it well. It really showed in the second half.” Many last-second adjustments had to be made due to the opposing new team’s roster, but Head believes that the team played well even though they came away with a loss. “We did do better in the second half, but we didn’t come back as much as we would’ve liked, or like we did in the first game against Anderson,” Head said. “We did come up short, but I still think we played as a team.” Following the Anderson loss, Head looked ahead to the team’s final three games with optimism. “I am looking forward to getting to face teams ...
