On the occasion of the exhibition ’The Library’ from 13 February - 20 March, 2025 at Opera Gallery in London, Spanish artist Manolo Valdés welcomes us to his foundry in Miami, Florida as he prepares for the exhibition, giving us a behind the scenes look at his creative process and the creation of some of the monumental sculptures that will appear in the exhibition. In this upcoming exhibition, Valdés Renowned for his paintings, sculptures and multimedia works that reference and re-contextualise important moments from the art historical canon through a lens that ranges from reverential to humorous and ironic. Comprised of paintings and new mixed media sculptures, ‘The Library’ explores Valdés’ oeuvre as a library that combines classical references with modern aesthetics.
