The varsity boys soccer team traveled to Cedar Creek and beat the Eagles 4-0 on Friday. The win kept the Knights (2-0-3) undefeated and handed the Eagles (3-2) their second district loss. With the three points earned from the victory, the Knights are now tied with the Eagles atop the District 24-5A standings with nine points. All four goals were scored by different Knights: senior Austin Gourrier, senior Manu Perez, sophomore Brandon Reynaga, and junior Sam Schuette. Schuette said the Knights controlled the game from the kickoff. “We had a lot of intensity from the start,” he said. “We did a really good job finishing, especially from set pieces.” Schuette credits the defense for giving the team their offensive opportunities. “The defense did really well,” he said. “They did a great job finding the midfielders which let the midfielders make chances for the offense.
