Senior Sonya Petersen said that she walked onto the court at Cedar Creek High School feeling optimistic about the game. “I was feeling excited and ready to play, and hoping we could beat them by more than we did last time we played them,” Petersen said. The Knights defeated Cedar Creek 58-32 at home on Jan. 3. Ultimately, the Knights won by 24, less than the 26-point margin of their first victory. Petersen said that to improve, the Knights need to reduce turnovers and prevent their opponents from going on scoring runs, but she praised the team’s offensive strengths in the game. “I think we did a good job at pushing the ball up the court in transition and taking good shots,” Petersen said.
