Let's take a moment to thank our Veterans for their sacrifice.🇺🇸 📸 Pictured here: 1. A one-third scale replica of the Iwo Jima memorial created by Felix de Weldon was originally located in the Garden of Patriots in the Cape Coral Gardens. Felix de Weldon created the monument that stands in Arlington National Cemetery. The Cape Coral replica now sits in Eco Park at the end of the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. 2. Retired Major General Bruce Easley (right) was the official liaison between the U.S. military and Gulf American, the original developers of Cape Coral. His task was to promote Cape Coral as a retirement spot. He was also involved in the creation of the Garden of Patriots and other military memorials in the Cape Coral Gardens.
