The University of Texas at Austin and utunions will celebrate the 45th anniversary of cactuscafeatx with the second of three weekend’s worth of live performances. The series, presented in partnership with armadilloworldheadquarters, features legendary performers from the club’s storied history, features popular Austin acts that will make their Cactus debuts with rare intimate shows, and introduces talented student performers. This week’s shows kick off Thursday night with a slate of student performers from UTalent Records (utalentrecords), the university’s student-run record label. Friday, we’ll feature a Valentine’s show from Uncle Roy & Spice (haveyouheardus). And we’ll close out the weekend with one of Austin music’s buzziest young bands, Next Of Kin (nextofkintheband). The Cactus Cafe’s 45th Anniversary Series runs Feb. 6-8, 13-15 and 20-22.
