Trailblazing NWSL player. Groundbreaking labor leader. 2025 Poet-Athlete Award winner. We are honored to announce that torihuster will receive the 2025 DC SCORES Poet-Athlete Award! The award is given annually to individuals who embody the ethos of DC SCORES poet-athletes by using their voices to serve as leaders in their communities and speak up against injustice. Huster will be awarded for her work as the deputy executive director and former president of nwsl_players, leading negotiations that secured two landmark collective bargaining agreements in 2022 and 2024. An advocate for players’ rights, equitable treatment, and enhanced working conditions, Huster will receive the award at DC SCORES’ premier youth poetry showcase, Our Words Our City, on May 20.
