A BLOOMING APPRECIATION: After their games against Anderson on Jan. 24, the players on the three macknightsbball teams hosted Parent Appreciation Knight to celebrate the parents for all they do for McCallum basketball. The students made cards and handed out flowers to their guardians, and many students were brought to tears. Senior Savannah Doerr said that she was excited to celebrate her parents and her grandparents by giving them flowers. “My mom and dad came to every single home game and all of the away games they could. Some of the schools were too far, but most of the time they found a way to make it happen. … I also gave my grandparents flowers because I feel like they were a big part in raising me. … I like having my family there and them seeing my improvement.” Doerr also shared that the girls basketball players met during FIT on the day of the game to make custom cards for their parents.
