A CUT ABOVE: Donnie Wooten is a McCallum alum who came back to MAC last Saturday to cut the hair of the players on the boys varsity basketball team. This opportunity came about from a bet made between player George McCoy and Coach T. With the deal being that if Coach T made an NBA distance corner 3, he would be able to pick any haircut for McCoy to get. After Coach T drained the shot, he arranged for Wooten to come to the gym after Saturday’s film session for a mobile barber session. As Wooten was setting up the tools of his trade, Coach T decided on a mullet for McCoy, and some of the other players followed suit. Wooten played football at MAC and had Coach G as a defensive coach, and he went to school with Coach T. “I cut his [Coach T’s] hair for like five years, and I went to McCallum,” Wooten said. “We both did, and I’ve always just wanted to come back and show some love to the kids.
