We are deeply saddened to share that Andy Lipman (CFWarriorProject), a 51-year-old with cystic fibrosis and a champion in our community, passed away on January 17. In 2016, Andy received the Foundation’s Alex Award, which is given to a person with CF who is a role model to others with the disease and embraces perseverance, showing unflagging courage in the face of cystic fibrosis. Andy was fiercely committed to finding a cure for CF. With his parents, Eva and Charles, he created the Wish for Wendy Foundation in memory of his older sister, who passed away from cystic fibrosis soon after birth. For 20 years, the Lipman family hosted the Wish for Wendy Softball challenge, raising more than $4 million to advance the Foundation’s mission. Andy also participated in ROSE UP for the Foundation, raising more than $500,000.
