Aveda believes when companies partner with communities we all succeed.
Aveda and The Yawanawá, an Amazon indigenous tribe of Rio Gregorio, Brazil have been partners for 31 years.
Since Aveda met the Yawanawá at a UN conference in 1992, they’ve partnered closely together to source fruit and potent botanical ingredients to use in Aveda’s products, provide clean water to the community and preserve their land in the Amazon rainforest. Our partnership over the years has evolved in many different ways, our collaboration has led to a new sustainable food security program, school funding and scholarships for the Yawanawá as well as our mission to help and protect 450K acres of rainforest from deforestation.
Aveda considers our partnership to be a cornerstone of climate resilience. It’s our mission at Aveda to aim to benefit communities, support human rights, preserve and enhance biodiversity and help mitigate climate change.
