Try out a bold, statement bob with box braids using red hair extensions. Kersti Pitre gives us her tips on on braiding and tying in extensions to create this look using her favorite Aveda styling products. Kersti starts out with freshly washed and air-dried hair prior to braiding. She begins sectioning by drawing a straight line across the bottom of her head to form the first row of triangles. To prep her hair for braiding, she applies three Aveda styling products – first, the Brilliant Styling Creme, then the Control Paste, and finally the Retexturing Gel – to build enough grip and hold to keep the extensions securely in place and prevent frizz. Once the sectioning process is complete and each section tied off with a rubber band, she begins braiding with burgundy extensions (using five packs in total, each one cut in half), adding a touch of Control Paste before banding off the ends.
